Reiki

The word reiki (ray-key) means ‘universal life energy’ in Japanese, where this therapy was developed at the turn of the century by Buddhist Mikao Usui. A reiki practitioner aims to channel this vital energy to use to provide overall wellbeing, deep relaxation and improved sense of self. Energy fields in the body each have different vibratory levels and reiki practitioners aim to rebalance these vibrations.
Although the reiki practitioner may ask questions about the client’s health prior to the session, it is important to note that no diagnosis, prognosis or advice will be offered.

What to expect from a Reiki session

The client remains fully clothed throughout the session and begins by relaxing on a massage couch, or sitting if that is more comfortable. The practitioner may then rest their hands near or lightly on the body in a sequence of positions, each one being held for a couple of minutes. Due to the gentle and non-invasive nature of this practice, it is suitable for individuals of all ages and walks of life.
The feeling during a reiki session is both deeply relaxing and meditative. Aura balancing and healing attunement are available upon request (please ask for this at the time of booking as it will necessitate a more lengthy session).
