About our massage service
Massage is one of the most powerful therapies for musculoskeletal issues. And it can restore a sense of wholeness and balance between the mind and the body. The therapy can be as gentle or as firm as you need it to be, depending on what you want to get out of the therapy. Edinburgh Centre of Nutrition & Therapy can provide that therapy for you.

What does the massage session look like?

Our massage therapist will first need to ask you some basic health questions. They’ll also need to know what kind of massage you prefer. They’ll then give some privacy so you can undress, lie down on the massage table and cover yourself with a large blanket or towel. The practitioner won’t enter the room until you’re ready. The room itself will be warm and dimly lit for your comfort and we’ll use scented oils during the therapy to help you relax.
The massage itself can be tailored to your own needs. Once the massage has ended, the therapist will leave the room so you have some time to sit up, recentre and dress.
Massage session details
The initial appointment accounts for an assessment and the massage itself. It’s recommended to opt for the full 90 minutes so we can have a gauge on your health history and provide a massage that’s more to your liking. If you’d prefer to keep it to a massage only, that’s perfectly fine.
60 and 120 - minute massage sessions are the norm, but we can provide 30-minute sessions if preferred. You’ll need to outline the session length when booking.
Deep Tissue and Relaxation Massage
This is also known as a therapeutic massage. It can be either a part or full body massage, depending on what you’d prefer. The stroke and pressure style can be varied so that specific aches and pains are targeted. It’s a massage that promotes tranquillity, relaxation and overall wellbeing.
Indian Head Massage
This Ayurvedic massage concentrates on the head, neck and shoulders and works to relieve localised or whole-body tension. It’s a fantastic option if you’re looking to achieve a restful sleep.
