The aim of EFT is to release negative emotions that have manifested as limiting behaviours or mental and/or physical body symptoms. During consultation, the practitioner applies a light tapping to energy meridians while verbally addressing the emotional difficulty.
The premise of EFT is that negative emotions cause a disruption in the body’s energy system and energy is released by tapping on the various points on the face, body and hands. EFT is wonderfully gentle, kind of like a form of acupuncture without any needles. Its roots are in acupuncture, kinesiology and psychology.
What to expect from an EFT session
Appointments last for an hour and a half during which time you can actually learn the basic form which you will then be able to use on your own. The techniques can be surprisingly simple. Sometime only an hour is necessary for a follow-up appointment and this can be discussed with the practitioner. During EFT, the individual is seated and fully clothed.
