Folic acid is a B vitamin – also known as B9 – which provides essential nutritional support during conception and pregnancy. Although it is found in foods such as dark green leafy vegetables, it is recommended that those trying to conceive and pregnant women take supplemental folic acid. Indeed, Folic acid is recommended by the Government’s Chief Medical Officers for all women planning a pregnancy. They advise a daily supplement when trying to conceive until at least the 12th week of pregnancy as supplemental folic acid intake increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor in the development of neural tube defects in the developing foetus. This one-a-day supplement from Viridian contains the recommended level of folic acid at 400µg per capsule.
Folic acid (folate) is a member of the vitamin B complex family which contributes to a reduction in tiredness and fatigue, the normal function of the immune system, normal psychological function, and the processes of normal homocysteine metabolism, amino acid synthesis, cell division and blood formation.
Contains 100% active ingredients formulated by expert nutritionists with no artificial fillers and no nasties. Sourced according to Viridian’s strict ethical criteria including no animal testing, GMO or palm oil.
